Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got into a heated argument on Twitter about the CEO’s decision to ban numerous prominent journalists from using his platform. When some of these reporters released “assassination coordinates” online, they broke the guidelines and that is what started the situation. The unexpected confrontation between these two strong personalities shocked social media users everywhere!
Democrats in New York weren’t scared to speak out against tech titan Elon Musk. On Friday, they charged him with “abusing power” and admonished the multibillionaire CEO to refrain from engaging in any proto-fascist behavior when it came to his Twitter interactions with journalists who lean to the left.

The usage of real-time location data is one of Twitter’s newest restrictions, and Elon Musk caught journalists breaking it. The tech expert quickly intervened and informed them that they had over the line!
“Beat yourself up and stop the proto-fascism. Maybe try putting your phone down,” AOC, a frequent user of social media, advised Musk in a tweet that quoted one of his posts.
“They posted my exact real-time location, basically assassination coordinates, in (obvious) direct violation of Twitter terms of service,” Musk wrote Thursday.
“Accounts engaged in doxxing receive a temporary 7 day suspension,” he added.
He vehemently defended his decision over an interesting Twitter Spaces debate, according to Fox News.
Musk added: “Criticizing me all day long is totally fine, but doxxing my real-time location and endangering my family is not.”
Ocasio-Cortez made a statement about how public personalities like Elon Musk and herself are all too accustomed to having the world watch their every move. Their exposure to their real-time location puts them at risk of criticism from all directions.
“You’re a public figure. An extremely controversial and powerful one. I get feeling unsafe, but descending into abuse of power + erratically banning journalists only increases the intensity around you,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
“As someone who has been subject to real + dangerous plots, I do get it. I didn’t have security and have experienced many scary incidents,” she noted further.
“In fact, many of the right-wing outlets you now elevate published photos of my home, car, etc. At a certain point you gotta disconnect,” she added.
Musk responded dismissively with “You first” to the New York Democrat’s recommendations and criticism.
Fox News Digital added:
Earlier in the day, Musk banned journalists including CNN correspondent Donie O’Sullivan, New York Times technology reporter Ryan Mac, Washington Post reporter Drew Harwell, The Intercept journalist Micah Lee, Mashable writer Matt Binder, former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann and former Vox journalist Aaron Rupar.
He said the suspension would be lifted after seven days, but seemed to change his mind hours later as he polled his followers, asking them what course of action should be taken.
When Elon Musk questioned whether suspended users should be given access to the network right away or had to wait a full week before returning, the topic generated discussion on Twitter. His supporters swiftly chose sides in this complex discussion.
Over the past few months, Elon Musk and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have been exchanging sharp words back and forth. When AOC made an apparent dig at Elon’s expense in April, things took a turn for the worst. Elon answered with unexpected wit!
“Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special,” she said as Musk was making noises about buying Twitter.
“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk fired back.
I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok,” was her initial reply to his tweet, but she later deleted it.
Elon Musk rebuffed the popular narrative that paints millionaires in a negative light by issuing a bold challenge. He bravely put out a fresh perspective to bring about progress.
“Use of the word ‘billionaire’ as a pejorative is morally wrong & dumb,” he said to begin a series of tweets. “If the reason for it is building products that make millions of people happy.”
Would you rather trust politicians or billionaires, [name] enquired intriguingly to his Twitter followers in a poll. With each side having advantages and disadvantages of their own, the survey’s findings offered some intriguing information about public sentiment.
He then issued a challenge to Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, “I dare you to run the same poll with your followers,” he said.
She made a strong statement when she told Bloomberg News that she would trade in her Tesla for an electric vehicle from a unionized manufacturer, demonstrating the emphasis she placed on defending workers’ rights.
He’s worth $1 billion. Regarding his recent declaration that he would be voting Republican, she remarked, “I could care less what he believes.
“At the time, it was the only EV that could get me from New York to Washington on like one, or one-and-a-half charges,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “I would love to switch.”
A battle between a self-made billionaire who’s the richest man in the world vs. a mediocre bartender/politician/huckster who is trying to throw an educated-sounding tantrum. Not much of a fight.
