Elon Musk Didn’t See THIS Coming from Gavin Newsom!

“Heads of all departments and agencies in the executive branch of Government shall, as soon as practicable, take all necessary steps to terminate remote work arrangements and require employees to return to work in-person at their respective duty stations on a full-time basis, provided that the department and agency heads shall make exemptions they deem necessary,” Trump’s executive order stated. “This memorandum shall be implemented consistent with applicable law.”

Donald Trump Jr. praised the move on X, saying, “No more showing up to work one day a month.” He added, “If you’re going to collect a paycheck from the government, you actually have to show up to work! President Trump signs order mandating federal workers show up in-person for work.”

Musk played a significant role in shaping Trump’s plan for government efficiency. Trump established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and tapped Musk to overhaul federal technology, cutting waste and improving productivity.

Predictably, the left-wing media and Democrats lost their minds over Musk’s influence in Washington. Some even called for his arrest and deportation, accusing him of treason simply for trying to eliminate government bloat. The threats against Musk and his family became so severe that he was forced to hire additional security.

But while Democrats viciously attack Musk and his DOGE reforms, they’re quietly copying his policies. San Francisco’s new mayor, Daniel Lurie, recently ordered city employees back to the office, signaling a break from the failed work-from-home experiment. And now, Newsom himself is jumping on the bandwagon.

“Governor Gavin Newsom today issued an executive order requiring all agencies and departments within his Administration to update their hybrid telework policies to a default of at least four days per week by July 1, 2025,” Newsom’s office announced.

“The order establishes a four-day-per-week in-office expectation, with further telework flexibilities granted on a case-by-case basis in light of individual circumstances, consistent with the executive order and existing family-friendly employment policies and legal obligations,” the statement continued. “To further enhance the state’s workforce needs, the Governor is also directing CalHR to streamline the hiring process for former federal employees seeking employment in key roles, including firefighting, forest management, and weather forecasting.”

For all their attacks on Musk, it seems even Democrats recognize his ideas work. If Newsom continues borrowing from the DOGE playbook, perhaps there’s a glimmer of hope for California after all. But given his track record, don’t count on it.
