Gabbard didn’t mince words when pointing fingers at California Governor Gavin Newsom, accusing him of enabling the destruction through inaction and possibly serving more sinister interests. “Whether he knows it or not, he is, certainly,” she said, referring to speculation that Newsom’s policies might be aligning with the interests of Mexican drug cartels by failing to secure peace.
The DOJ, according to Gabbard, is actively tracking the financial trail leading to the organizations and individuals potentially responsible for instigating the unrest. “Again, this is something that the Department of Justice and the FBI is looking into — who is funding these protesters,” she said.
While the Associated Press has in the past dismissed Craigslist protest ads as hoaxes, the persistence of these ads—and the violence that often follows them—has forced Trump officials to take the claims more seriously.
At the heart of the growing controversy is the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIR), an organization that has received tens of millions in taxpayer dollars to advocate for immigration causes. The Western Journal now reports that CHIR received at least $450,000 during the Biden administration via the Department of Homeland Security—money that may have ended up supporting demonstrations that spiraled out of control.
The Trump-era DHS is now aggressively pursuing efforts to reclaim those funds, with more than $100,000 in disputed grants still unaccounted for.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is also turning up the heat. Just last week, he issued a demand for financial records from a Los Angeles-based group involved in organizing early-stage protests in the city. Hawley’s move signals growing interest from Capitol Hill in identifying not just the foot soldiers, but the puppet masters pulling the strings.
Shockingly, the AFL-CIO—the largest labor union federation in the United States—is also being linked to the unrest. An international development offshoot tied to the union reportedly played a role in sponsoring the “No Kings” rally in Minnesota. That event turned deadly in Utah when a protester was shot and killed, turning national attention toward the union’s role in the movement.
“Bluntly: AFL-CIO is one of the key taxpayer-funded organizations in effecting regime change all over the world,” wrote an anonymous investigator going by the handle DataRepublican in a viral X thread. “That AFL-CIO is openly involved in sponsoring the No Kings rally should raise extreme concerns as to the rally’s true purpose.”
The rally featured none other than Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as its keynote speaker, drawing serious questions about the event’s real motives—and whether elected officials are aware of who they’re aligning with.
What started as spontaneous protests over immigration enforcement now appear to be part of a larger, darker machine. With ties to government grants, globalist unions, and even cartel-linked negligence, the DOJ’s probe is threatening to blow the lid off what could be one of the most disturbing political finance scandals in recent history.
As federal investigators follow the money trail, one thing is clear: the battle over America’s streets may not just be between protestors and police—it may be a war of influence funded from the shadows.
