As the 2024 election cycle ramps up, President Donald Trump’s Justice Department is already taking action to ensure America’s elections are secure—and one Democrat-led state just got hit with a major lawsuit.
While Trump’s recent decisive victory over Kamala Harris brought some relief to voters weary of political drama, the two elections before it were marred by explosive allegations from both sides of the aisle. After Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016, Democrats screamed “Russia collusion.” Then in 2020, conservative Americans were stunned as Joe Biden miraculously surged ahead in the dead of night with mysterious ballot dumps in key swing states.
Neither scandal resulted in concrete consequences, but they revealed one thing both parties should agree on—America’s election system must be trustworthy.
Now, President Trump’s Department of Justice is taking aim at what they say is a dangerous failure in the system—and they’re pointing the finger squarely at North Carolina.
