Former Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo delivered a forceful and controversial speech over the weekend at the Black Sea Security Forum in Odesa, Ukraine. As President Trump continues advocating for peace and diplomacy to end the bloody Russia-Ukraine war, Pompeo showed up in Ukraine with a very different message: total victory over Moscow—no compromises, no negotiations.
Pompeo’s remarks came just one day before Ukraine and its Western backers launched one of the most aggressive drone strikes yet, deep inside Russian territory, wiping out nuclear-capable bombers on a runway. Many are now asking—was this a coincidence or coordinated timing?

During a ten-minute speech, followed by a 19-minute Q&A session with Ukrainian MP Oleksii Goncharenko, Pompeo made his stance crystal clear.
“There is only one outcome that is remotely tolerable for the world, and that is victory. It’s winning,” Pompeo declared.
