The idea that The Washington Post or other legacy media platforms are somehow turning on Democrats is laughable to most Americans who’ve witnessed a decade or more of shameless media spin in favor of leftist policies, candidates, and talking points. But Clyburn isn’t backing down.
“I have to rely upon people like [MSNBC]. You do a great job of this. That’s why I like coming on your shows on the weekends, because you do real, good, substantive reporting of what the issues are around us,” he added.
Clyburn then leveled a bizarre complaint, accusing other news outlets of abandoning the truth—ironically, a practice for which the Democratic establishment has long been accused.
“But when you’ve got people saying we’re not going to fact-check, we’re not going to worry about whether or not you’re telling the truth and just let the reports go out there. That’s what’s killing us as Democrats, because we don’t have a stomach for just lying.”
No stomach for lying? That’s rich coming from the party that brought America “Russian collusion,” “mostly peaceful protests,” and “15 days to slow the spread.” Conservatives have long pointed out the blatant hypocrisy in Democratic messaging, and Clyburn’s comments only add fuel to the fire.
And this isn’t the first time Clyburn has thrown reality out the window. He once claimed that Joe Biden—yes, the president presiding over record inflation, border chaos, and plummeting poll numbers—would go down in history as one of America’s greatest leaders.
“I think that he will go down as one of the greatest presidents we ever had,” Clyburn declared. “I think the same thing about Jimmy Carter, who we just funeralized.”
It’s worth noting that Carter’s presidency was marred by economic failure, foreign policy blunders, and double-digit inflation—eerily similar to what Americans are facing now. Biden, whose approval ratings are in the basement, isn’t exactly inspiring a legacy of greatness outside of DNC echo chambers.

Even as Clyburn waxes poetic about the Democratic “message,” he fails to acknowledge what that message actually is. Open borders? Government dependency? Gender ideology in schools? Trillions in reckless spending? If that’s the winning message, no wonder Democrats are scrambling for someone to blame.
For conservatives, Clyburn’s rant is nothing new—it’s the same tired tactic of playing the victim whenever the message doesn’t land. But in 2024, blaming the media, of all things, for not being biased enough is a new level of delusion.
As trust in the media hits historic lows and Americans turn to alternative platforms for truth, Democrats like Clyburn may be waking up to a harsh reality: the narrative control they once monopolized is slipping away.
And that’s what’s really “killing them.”
