Chris Kyle’s Widow Fires Back at Dem Candidate

Tensions are rising in Maine’s U.S. Senate race after a series of resurfaced comments and accusations involving Democratic candidate Graham Platner and the legacy of slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

The controversy centers on remarks Platner made during a 2024 podcast interview, where he questioned the battlefield conduct of elite SEAL units and suggested that higher “kill counts” could be associated with less discrimination in combat situations. His comments specifically referenced Chris Kyle, the most famous U.S. Navy SEAL sniper of the Iraq War.

Platner said during the interview:

“[Kyle’s] stories about how many people he was shooting certainly tracked with the behavior I witnessed [in Ramadi, Iraq]. It’s relatively easy to get high numbers like that if you’re a little less discriminating in your fire than, say, a more professional unit would be,” Platner said.
