The American taxpayer is finally getting a break—at least when it comes to funding liberal mouthpieces like NPR and PBS.

In a stunning rebuke of the nation’s publicly funded broadcasters, Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy made the case loud and clear: these media outlets are more interested in political propaganda than serving the American people. With the U.S. Senate voting to defund both NPR and PBS, Roy didn’t hold back as he dismantled their so-called value—especially during real crises like the deadly Texas floods that have now claimed 135 lives.
“There’s a lot of folks here, talking about and extolling the virtues of NPR, PBS, public broadcasting, so forth and talked about how cutting their funding is somehow going to endanger communities and rural communities,” Roy said during a hearing.
