Chicago Mayor Threatens Trump?

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has sparked outrage after publicly calling on residents to “rise up” against President Trump if federal agents and National Guard troops are deployed to combat the city’s spiraling crime crisis.

During a press briefing from the Oval Office on Friday, President Trump discussed his recent federal intervention in Washington, D.C., and confirmed that Chicago is next on his list. While the president is only able to federalize police in the nation’s capital under the Home Rule Act, he can still send in federal officers and National Guard units to cities across America at his discretion.

“After we do this will go to another location, and we’ll make it safe, also. We’re going to make our country very safe,” Trump declared. “We’re going to make our cities very, very safe. Chicago’s a mess.”

The president did not hold back in his criticism of Johnson, blasting the Chicago mayor as “grossly incompetent.” He told Vice President J.D. Vance that Chicago would be next in line for federal help, adding, “That’ll be our next one after this. And it won’t even be tough. And the people in Chicago, Mr. Vice President, are screaming for us to come.”
