Cheney Calls Trump ‘Biggest Threat’ – Endorses Kamala!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

This is not the first time Cheney has openly criticized Trump, but his endorsement of Harris—a figure many conservatives find deeply problematic—signals a sharp turn in his political positioning. Cheney’s message emphasized that Americans should prioritize the constitution over partisanship, calling on voters to reject Trump and support Harris in the upcoming election.

“As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice-President Kamala Harris,” Cheney added.

Dick Cheney’s daughter, Liz Cheney, has also been an outspoken Trump critic. A former Congresswoman from Wyoming, Liz has frequently voiced her opposition to Trump’s policies and actions, particularly his attempts to challenge the legitimacy of the 2020 election results. Though she briefly entertained the idea of running for president as a third-party candidate, Liz Cheney has since joined her father in endorsing Harris.

The younger Cheney’s anti-Trump stance cost her dearly in Wyoming, a deep-red state that overwhelmingly supports Trump. In 2022, Liz Cheney was defeated in her GOP primary race by Harriet Hageman, who ran with Trump’s endorsement. Cheney’s campaign against Trump, which centered on her role in the January 6th hearings, alienated many of her former supporters in the conservative stronghold.

The response from Trump’s allies has been swift and severe. Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, who is running as Trump’s vice-presidential candidate in 2024, didn’t mince words when addressing the Cheney family’s endorsement of Kamala Harris. During an interview with Charlie Kirk, Vance lambasted both Dick and Liz Cheney, accusing them of profiting from America’s military failures.

“Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney make very, very interesting partners,” Vance said. “They get rich when America’s sons and daughters go off to die. They get rich when America loses wars instead of winning wars. They get rich when America gets weaker in the world.”

Vance’s comments highlight the deep divisions within the Republican Party, where Cheney’s foreign policy legacy is still a point of contention. Many Trump supporters view Cheney’s endorsement as further proof that the political establishment, which they accuse of serving its own interests over those of the American people, is uniting to block Trump from returning to power.

“Maybe the best thing, not the very best thing, but a very good thing I could say about the next presidency of Donald J. Trump is that he’s going to make sure that people like Liz Cheney are laughed out of the Oval Office instead of rewarded,” Vance continued.

The Cheneys’ endorsement of Kamala Harris could further deepen the divide between traditional Republicans and the pro-Trump wing of the party. Dick Cheney’s legacy as a key figure in George W. Bush’s administration has long been a sore spot for many Trump supporters, who criticize the Bush-era policies for leading to costly wars and a weakened America on the world stage.

The endorsement of Harris, a liberal Democrat and a figure conservatives see as a continuation of Biden’s presidency, will likely fuel accusations that the Cheneys are out of touch with the current direction of the GOP. Many Republican voters, especially those aligned with Trump, have rejected the Cheney-style neoconservative approach, which they view as detrimental to America’s future.

Dick Cheney’s endorsement of Kamala Harris is bound to spark debate and criticism as the 2024 race heats up. Whether this move will sway any voters remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Cheney is determined to prevent Trump from regaining the presidency, even if it means endorsing a candidate from the opposing party.
