BREAKING: Trump Shakes the War Dept.!

President Donald Trump has taken a decisive step to restore what his administration calls America’s energy backbone, signing a sweeping executive order that places coal-fired power plants at the center of national defense strategy. The directive orders the Department of War to prioritize long-term electricity contracts with coal facilities, arguing that reliable energy is not just an economic issue—but a matter of national survival.

The executive order, formally titled Strengthening National Defense With Reliable Coal Power, mandates that the Pentagon secure what it describes as “on-demand baseload power” for military bases and intelligence installations nationwide. The goal is straightforward: ensure uninterrupted electricity for America’s defense operations, even during grid failures, cyberattacks, or national emergencies.

Under the order, the Department of Energy is instructed to work hand-in-hand with the Pentagon to identify coal plants capable of delivering steady power when other sources fall short. Administration officials say coal’s reliability makes it uniquely suited to support critical infrastructure during crises when renewable sources may falter.

President Trump unveiled the policy during a White House event dubbed The Champion of Coal, surrounded by miners, energy executives, and top administration officials. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin joined the president, underscoring the administration’s all-hands-on-deck approach to reviving the coal industry.
