Joanne Quintana, the current homeowner, grew up in the house and initially embraced its connection to the series. But over time, the relentless attention from tourists took its toll. “We average 300 cars a day. Come Balloon Fiesta, hundreds of thousands come for balloons. Balloons go up, they come down. Where do they come? Here,” Quintana said in an interview with KOB.
The property features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. Outside, there’s a two-car garage, a swimming pool, and a small grassy area with a large tree—a peaceful retreat often disrupted by intrusive visitors.
For years, fans reenacted the infamous scene where Walter White hurls a pizza onto the roof, leading to damage and frequent repairs. Quintana resorted to installing a tall metal fence and numerous “no trespassing” signs, but the visitors persisted. Some went so far as to leave packages addressed to “Walter White,” including one incident that required a bomb squad.
“Around 4:30 in the morning, the doorbell rang, my mom got up and opened the door, and it was a package,” Quintana recalled. “She then found a package addressed to ‘Walter White,’ which ultimately led to a bomb squad being dispatched to the residence.”
While the connection to Breaking Bad initially felt like a blessing, it has turned into a burden. “This was our family home from 1973, almost 52 years,” Quintana explained. “So we’re going to walk away with just our memories. It’s time to move on. We’re done. There’s no reason to fight anymore.”
