Ted Cruz stopped buying Nike products seven years ago after the athletic giant scrapped a Fourth of July sneaker featuring an early American flag.
Now, with Nike shares sitting near their lowest level since 2014, the Texas Republican is revisiting the controversy — and delivering a familiar warning to corporate America.
Nike shares closed at $39.09 on August 17, a 12-year low and roughly 78% below the company’s November 2021 record close of $177.51. The plunge from that peak has erased roughly $196 billion in market value.
