Normal people can agree that certain decisions require the maturity and understanding of an adult. There are legal age limits for activities like drinking alcohol and driving cars due to the recognition of these activities’ complexities and potential dangers.
However, according to a recent report by The New York Times, it seems the Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been pressuring health professionals to reconsider age limits for significant medical procedures. These procedures include surgeries for young girls to remove developing breasts or healthy uteruses, which are currently deemed too politically sensitive to restrict by age.

In 2021, WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), amidst controversies over its credibility, drafted guidelines suggesting age restrictions for transgender surgeries: 14 for hormonal treatments, 15 for mastectomies, 16 for breast augmentation or facial surgeries, and 17 for genital surgeries or hysterectomies.
