The incident, which was captured on camera outside a migrant shelter in Times Square, shows the cops telling the group to leave at first. They reappeared in the picture shortly after, fighting with one of the migrants violently.

The two cops were attacked by eight people, according to the authorities.

Darwin Andres Gomez Izquiel (19), Yorman Reveron (24), Juarez Wilson (21), and Kelvin Servat Arocha (19) were the attackers; they were charged with assault but freed without bond.

The fifth suspect, Jhoan Boada (22), was apprehended and later released after being recognized from security footage and a wanted poster.

After being arraigned on charges of assaulting a police officer and impeding government administration, Boada boldly pointed at the cameras as he left Manhattan Criminal Court, blatantly disputing the accusations in Spanish.

Western Lensman, a video researcher, wrote: “This man entered the country illegally, was caught on camera beating a cop, and walked out of jail without bail. This is what he thinks of you and your country. He believes he is above the law. And he’s right.”

According to the New York Post:

An NYPD official stated on Wednesday that the migrant “cowards” who reportedly banded together against two police officers close to Times Square ought to be imprisoned, while another suspect in the startling mob incident was released without bond.

After being arraigned on Saturday for the beating that was captured on video, Jhoan Boada, 22, even took the time to flip the double bird as he left Manhattan Criminal Court. He is accused of assaulting a police officer and impeding government administration.

In a flurry of TV camera flashes, he murmured in Spanish, “I didn’t do nothing.” He was leaving a courthouse corridor.

Boada was the sixth alleged police attacker who was arrested for eligible for bail after the incident, which NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell denounced as “reprehensible” earlier on Wednesday.

“You have eight people attacking a lieutenant and a cop. The four that were arrested should be sitting in Rikers [Island] right now on bail,” Reporters were informed by the disgruntled chief that police are still looking for three additional individuals.

Two other suspects, Yohenry Brito, 24, and Jandry Barros, 21, were later taken into custody and charged with criminal assault and robbery in addition to the initial arrests. Like the others who were previously detained, these people are from Venezuela, live in shelters for migrants in the city, and don’t have work permits or recognized family there.

Governor Hochul of New York talked about the potential deportation of the accused who were requesting refuge. She made this announcement at a news conference where she also nominated Steven G. James to be the next superintendent of the New York State Police.

Hochul stated that the deportation of the accused is something that is worth “considering” in response to questions over the unsettling occurrence.

“I mean, if someone commits a crime against a police officer in the state of New York and they’re not here legally, it’s definitely worth checking into,” The Post reported that the Democratic governor stated.

“These are law enforcement officers who should never under any circumstances be subjected to physical assault… It’s wrong on all accounts and I’m looking to judges and prosecutors to do the right thing,” she added.
