Baier Drops BOMBSHELL: GOP’s Path to Senate Control!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“You see these yellow states, these are our toss-ups, and as you see our what-if scenario, 49-42, we can say as of today, the RealClearPolitics average of polls, let’s just say, who’s leading in those will give them the state. Maryland is a lead for Democrats. Ohio is closing, but still, Sherrod Brown has the lead there. Michigan is Democrat-leaning. Wisconsin, as well. Arizona and Nevada. Republicans right now leading in the polls in West Virginia and Montana,” Baier explained.

One of the key battlegrounds that could make or break the Senate majority is Pennsylvania. Baier zeroed in on this race, which is heating up between Democrat incumbent Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick. Baier said, “I see I leave Pennsylvania here because I want to tell the story about Pennsylvania. Incumbent Democrat Bob Casey facing Dave McCormick. The RealClearPolitics average of polls in this race has been closing in recent days. There you see it, a little bit more than five points, but the recent poll, the most recent, the Washington Post poll out, has this race tied at 48-48. That is a big deal. If the Republicans manage to pull off this upset win over the incumbent, go back to the map, you can see it would be 52-48.”

A Republican-controlled Senate is crucial not only for legislative power but also for judicial appointments, including those to the Supreme Court. As Baier pointed out, a GOP Senate would give Republicans a significant advantage in confirming conservative judges and justices, safeguarding the courts for years to come.

This Senate update follows other encouraging developments for Trump’s allies, particularly in Georgia. Last week, the Republican-led Georgia State Election Board passed a controversial rule, sparking outrage from Democrats but drawing praise from Trump supporters. The new rule, passed by a 3-2 vote, requires a hand count of ballots on Election Day to ensure accuracy, though the hand count won’t determine vote tallies for candidates.

“The new hand-counting rule requires counties to count by hand the number of ballots cast at a polling place to make sure it matches the number of ballots tallied by voting machines. The hand-counters won’t be tallying how many votes each candidate received — that’s what the machines do,” CNN reported.

Janelle King, a member of the Georgia State Election Board, defended the rule after the vote, pointing to previous issues with ballot counts. “Unfortunately, a few bad apples, a few miscounts here or there, a few double counts, lead to an overshadowing of the great work that many of our election board offices are doing time and time again,” King said. “So this is a very difficult position: Do we maintain the status quo because it’s easier or do we make a few adjustments so that we can be better?”

Republicans quickly celebrated the decision, with the Republican National Committee (RNC) lauding Georgia’s commitment to transparency and fairness in elections. “We applaud Georgia’s Election Board members for passing these critical rules and continuing to fight for transparency and accuracy in Georgia’s elections. This is our country’s most important election, and Georgia has sent a clear message: ballots will be protected, and cheating will not be tolerated,” said RNC Chairman Michael Whatley.

On the other hand, Democrats are furious, accusing Republicans of trying to make voting more difficult. The Democrat National Committee has voiced strong opposition to the rule, claiming it will unnecessarily complicate the voting process and is part of a broader effort to undermine election integrity.

As the election draws closer, the stakes couldn’t be higher for both parties. For Trump and his supporters, a Republican majority in the Senate would provide a powerful platform to advance their agenda, protect the courts, and regain political momentum ahead of the 2024 presidential race. For Democrats, holding onto their slim majority in the Senate could be their last line of defense against a resurgent GOP.

The battle for control of Congress is far from over, and both sides are pulling out all the stops to win these critical races. Whether it’s Pennsylvania, Georgia, or any of the other battleground states, every race counts in what’s shaping up to be one of the most consequential elections in modern U.S. history.
