Far-left firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is once again trying to position herself as the radical face of resistance — this time against law enforcement officers enforcing immigration law. In a move that stunned many, AOC publicly threatened Trump-era officials and defended fellow Democrats who allegedly assaulted ICE agents while storming a federal detention center.
The controversy erupted after three Democrat lawmakers — Reps. Robert Menendez Jr., Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Lauren McIver — joined Newark, New Jersey, Mayor Ras Baraka in a chaotic protest outside an ICE facility. The situation quickly spiraled out of control.
Baraka was arrested on trespassing charges. Body camera footage reportedly showed Rep. McIver physically attacking a federal agent. This wasn’t some peaceful protest — it was a direct confrontation with law enforcement doing their jobs.
The Department of Homeland Security responded with a firm warning. DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin made it clear that political titles would not shield anyone from the law.
