President Donald Trump announced a major automotive investment in Georgia on Saturday, revealing that German luxury carmaker Audi plans to establish a manufacturing operation near Macon. The proposed project represents a significant commitment to American production, with thousands of jobs and an annual output of up to 200,000 vehicles expected once the facility becomes operational.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Perry, Georgia, Trump presented the announcement as a major economic victory for his administration, highlighting the scale of the investment and the potential benefits for American workers.
“Today I’m thrilled to announce a massive auto manufacturing investment in the great state of Georgia by a fantastic company. Audi has just committed to invest $4.2 billion in nearby Macon, Georgia to begin the construction next month on a massive plant that will produce 200,000 cars a year,” the president announced during the rally.
The announcement puts Georgia at the center of Audi’s proposed expansion in the American market. The investment is expected to establish a substantial manufacturing presence in Middle Georgia, bringing new employment opportunities and potentially strengthening the region’s position in the automotive supply chain.
