Strikes Hit Chinese-Made Military Hardware!

Iraqi authorities are investigating a series of suspected strikes against weapons storage facilities believed to contain Chinese-made air defense systems delivered through Iran to Tehran-aligned armed groups. The reported attacks have raised new questions about the security of strategic weapons moving through Iraq and the possibility of a widening confrontation involving Israel, Iran, and regional militias.

According to a report by the Arabic news outlet Asharq Al-Awsat, citing Iraqi government and security officials, two facilities suspected of holding Chinese-made man-portable air defense systems came under attack last week. The alleged strikes reportedly destroyed a substantial shipment of weapons that had recently arrived from Iran before being transferred to armed factions operating inside Iraq.

If confirmed, the incident could represent a significant setback for Iran-backed groups seeking to strengthen their ability to defend against aerial attacks. However, Iraqi officials have not publicly established who carried out the suspected strikes, and the available information remains unverified.

One source familiar with the reported weapons transfers described the effort to conceal the shipments, saying that “the armed faction that selected the site to store the air defense systems believed it would be extremely difficult to access or detect.”
