The Coalition to Protect Kids, which organized the event, has been vocal in its opposition to Proposition 1 and the broader issue of transgender participation in women’s sports. Ayesha Kreutz, the group’s spokeswoman, expressed concern that young women in New York are being silenced on the issue.
“Girls are being systematically canceled in this state, and ‘Walk Off for Fairness Day’ will give them a safe opportunity to make their voices heard,” Kreutz said. “So many of these young women are afraid of speaking out, so they’re forced to watch as 50 years of female athletic progress gets washed away by destructive ideologues. Girls are not second-class citizens, so why are they being treated that way?”
One of the student participants, Hannah Pompeo, a 16-year-old soccer player from Eden High School, echoed Kreutz’s sentiments. Pompeo expressed her frustration with what she sees as an unfair playing field when boys are allowed to compete in girls’ sports.
“It’s not right for boys to compete against girls in sports. It’s a huge disadvantage for girls,” Pompeo said.
The debate surrounding transgender participation in sports has been a contentious issue across the country, with many states passing legislation aimed at preserving the separation of male and female athletic competitions. In June, Nassau County lawmakers passed a bill prohibiting transgender athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports at county-run facilities. The bill, which applies to more than 100 county sites, requires teams, leagues, and organizations seeking permits from the county’s parks and recreation department to “expressly designate” their teams as male, female, or coed.
According to Fox News, any team or league that allows transgender athletes to compete will be denied permits under Nassau County’s new law. This measure has already set the stage for a potential legal showdown if Proposition 1 is passed. Critics warn that such legislation could lead to more policies that erode the protection and fairness of women’s sports.
While the issue of transgender athletes in women’s sports continues to polarize communities, those organizing “Walk Off for Fairness Day” hope the event will send a clear message to lawmakers and the public. They argue that biological differences between men and women give male athletes an inherent advantage, making it unfair to allow them to compete against women.

The walkout on October 24 is expected to draw participants from schools across the state, and its impact could resonate well beyond New York, as the debate over gender identity and athletics remains a hot topic nationwide. Organizers and participants hope the event will draw attention to what they see as an urgent need to protect the integrity of women’s sports.
As the conversation surrounding Proposition 1 continues to heat up, those on both sides of the debate will be watching closely. For now, New York’s students are preparing to take their stand—one they hope will make a difference for women athletes across the state.

Men do not belong in women’s sports period these men are COWARDS to want to compete against women as they are too weak to compete against other men so they as COWARDS choose to compete against women. if these filthy states push this through then it will be up to the women athletes to simply REFUSE TO ATTEND ANY EVENT THAT FORCES MEN TO COMPETE AGAINST THE WOMEN, take it away from the state on who decides and GIVE IT TO THE WOMEN ATHIETES TO MAKE THAT DECISION not the idiots behind this.
