Haitian Delicacy? Report Reveals Cat Consumption

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

In an article published in 2019, the Haitian Report addressed a question that seems to be frequently asked of Haitians: “Do Haitians eat cats?” The author, unafraid to confront this taboo topic, made the reality clear. “Do Haitians eat cats” is one of the top 10 most frequently asked questions of Haitians in elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and even professional settings,” the author noted, adding, “I, on the other hand, don’t have this problem. This is why I’m going to spill the beans and let you in on this little secret.”

The article goes on to explain that in Haiti, particularly in the countryside, cat meat is viewed as a delicacy and is consumed during specific cultural festivities such as “Reveillon,” a large Christmas Eve celebration. The tradition dates back to the era of slavery, making the practice deeply rooted in Haitian culture. The report emphasized that eating cats in Haiti is not due to poverty or desperation, but rather a long-standing cultural norm.

“Contrary to popular beliefs, Haitians don’t eat cats because they are poor and hungry. They eat cats because it’s a tradition,” the Haitian Report declared. This is no hasty assumption or baseless claim; it’s a cultural reality that has persisted for generations.

The article further explains that the lack of laws against eating pets in Haiti, as well as a different view of pets compared to North America or Europe, allows this practice to continue. The publication also highlights that many Haitians do not have the same “human-like” relationship with their pets as is common in other parts of the world. “Meat is meat,” the author explains, pointing out that cats, like other animals such as pigs or chickens, are often viewed as food rather than companions.

In what some might find shocking, the article goes even further, comparing the taste of cat meat to chicken. “Cat meat actually tastes like chicken,” the author remarked, adding that due to evolutionary similarities between animals, many different meats taste alike, even if they have distinct smells.

This long-standing cultural practice is not only acknowledged but has been openly discussed within Haitian communities, both in Haiti and abroad. The comments from readers in response to the 2019 article were eye-opening. One commenter shared a chilling story: “I was told by a friend of mine who happens to be Haitian that some Haitians will kidnap your cat, kill and eat it if they have a personal problem with you or your family.”

Others described personal experiences of their cats disappearing under mysterious circumstances, only to later suspect that their pets may have been consumed. One individual bluntly wrote, “Disgusting, I have a Haitian family at the end of my street. They probably ate my outside cat cuz I haven’t been able to find them.”

While these stories may seem shocking to some, they align with a well-documented cultural tradition that mainstream media refuses to acknowledge. The attempt by the media to bury this story under cries of racism and xenophobia does nothing to change the facts.

In the end, Trump’s comment was not a random or baseless claim, but a reflection of an uncomfortable reality that many on the left would rather not address. Rather than dismissing or laughing at these statements, it’s time for the media to confront the truth behind these cultural practices, and acknowledge the very real challenges that come with unchecked immigration and cultural integration.

As the mainstream outlets continue their campaign of denial, one thing is clear: there are facts they can no longer ignore.

  1. Years ago a southern MINNESOTA CHINESE buffet restaurant was closed when a local investigation into many complaints of missing pet dogs and cats. Following tips, it was found most of the meat in the buffet dishes was dog or cat meat and the restaurant cold storage room was found to have many skinned dogs and cats hanging from the ceiling. They were immediately closed down. So not only the Haitians eat pets, including OUR PETS. Animal protection groups in US have traveled to China and purchased dogs and cats that were on deck to be inhumanely slaughtered and the meat sold in street markets. They brought the animals back here to find homes for them. Many countries in the MIDDLE EAST would rather kill a dog or cat than look at them. There was even video footage after the Taliban took over Kabul, showing a black lab walking toward one of them, wagging it’s tail. The man shot it and it collapsed. Almost immediately it struggled and again stood, wagging it’s tail and resumed walking toward him. Again the Taliban man shot the dog and it collapsed again, this time not getting up, presumed killed. Horrible. Obviously a friendly dog. All the highly trained Special Forces military dogs were left by BIDEN/HARRIS at Bagram Military Base, crated and ready to go home, until Biden/Harris abandoned them, left locked inside animal carriers, as seen in pictures released. They were killed, likely after extreme torture, by the Taliban. Eaten? Not divulged.
Trump was correct again, re the horrible plight awaiting some of our pets here. I don’t care if it’s “culturally accepted” in Haiti or other countries. THIS IS AMERICA. Stay in your country with your culture.
