However, the controversy stems from Wang’s affiliation with the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD), an organization closely linked to the CCP. Wang, who currently serves as the interim chair of the council, has an impressive background that includes multiple law degrees, academic publications, and teaching roles at prestigious institutions. Yet, his association with a CCP-affiliated group has raised alarm bells among many, casting doubt on his objectivity in shaping state policies.
