The Foreign Beer Takeover Nobody Saw Coming

For generations, many Americans have associated iconic beer brands with St. Louis, patriotic advertising, and images of small-town life. But a new report is challenging that perception, arguing that some of the biggest names in American beer are controlled by foreign corporate interests while continuing to market themselves as symbols of American tradition.

Consumer Action for a Strong Economy (CASE) released a report this week raising questions about the influence of foreign-owned beer giants in the U.S. market, particularly global brewing powerhouse Anheuser-Busch InBev.

The report arrives as trade policy, tariffs, and domestic manufacturing remain central issues in Washington. Supporters of President Donald Trump’s economic agenda have argued that American workers and American-owned businesses should receive priority when lawmakers consider tax incentives and trade benefits.
