During a recent debate, Trump made waves with his bold assertion: “They’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.”
As expected, the left-leaning media wasted no time in attempting to dismiss Trump’s words. His statement was met with mockery, followed by the typical cycle of denial, deflection, and ridicule. Some Democrats even found amusement in Trump’s claims, laughing off the notion that pets were being consumed in the United States.

However, as the media continues to try to discredit the story, the evidence suggests otherwise. While the mainstream outlets attempt to wave this off as xenophobic or exaggerated, there is real documentation of the practice of consuming pets among Haitian migrants. Even a Haitian publication, Haitian Report, has confirmed that the practice is not unheard of in Haiti, particularly among certain rural communities.
