Judge Rules on Trump Mistrial Request: Here’s the Verdict!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Separately, the integrity of another judge involved with Trump, Judge Arthur Engoron, who presided over Trump’s civil fraud trial, came under scrutiny. Engoron was investigated for allegedly receiving unsolicited advice from Adam Leitman Bailey, a prominent New York real estate lawyer, which raised questions about judicial conduct. Bailey admitted to offering advice to Engoron just weeks before the judge’s decision on the fraud case, a move contrary to legal standards which prohibit ex parte communications unless they involve advice from a disinterested legal expert provided there is notice to all parties involved.

Despite these controversies, Engoron’s office asserted that his judgments were made independently and were unaffected by any outside influences. “The decision Justice Engoron issued February 16 was his alone, was deeply considered, and was wholly uninfluenced by this individual,” stated a court spokesman, aiming to dispel any doubts about the propriety of the trial’s conclusions.
