The litigation between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems has just received more explosive news. The network’s stunning decision to cut relations with former President Donald Trump is actually being illuminated by this legal dispute, according to a recent court document leak.
A major network recently had a turbulent shakeup that resulted in the removal of most-watched primetime cable news anchor Tucker Carlson from his prime 8 P.M. position as well as the revelation of an unexpected document leak.

Many Fox News viewers are perplexed by Rupert Murdoch’s decision to sever the network’s long-standing relationship with its highest-rated primetime show, Tucker Carlson. One thing is certain despite the abundance of rumors: this will mark a seismic shift in American television news watching.
“Carlson’s exit is related to the discrimination lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg, the producer fired by the network last month,” the L.A. Times reported previously.
“Murdoch is also said to be concerned over Carlson’s coverage of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, in which the host has promoted the conspiracy theory that it was provoked by government agents,” the report added.
Former House Speaker and GOP icon Paul Ryan now casts a significant shadow over Fox News’ top executives. His presence looms enormous, and his influence is felt among the network’s top ranks.
According to a shocking court declaration from Dominion Voting System, Fox News CEO Ryan had a significant part in the network’s decision to distance itself from Donald Trump after the election. This shift in strategy has shocked media outlets since it seems to be an effort by one of America’s most important news networks to continue their coverage of the post-Trump period.

“As a Board Member, Ryan believed that the period immediately following the 2020 Presidential Election ‘was a pretty important inflection point, not just for the company Fox, but for the country and for the conservative movement itself,’ and shared this ‘view as a fiduciary’ with Rupert and Lachlan,” Citing an exhibit, the document states.
“Ryan told Rupert and Lachlan ‘that Fox News should not be spreading conspiracy theories’,” the document added.
Paul Ryan was involved in negotiations about how to handle any potential backlash after the 2020 election as it came closer.

“On December 6 , 2020, Paul Ryan texted Rupert and Lachlan, telling them, we are entering a truly bizarre phase of this where [Trump] has actually convinced himself of this farce and will do more bizarre things to delegitimize the election,” the legal document states. “I see this as a key inflection point for Fox, where the right thing and the smart business thing to do line up nicely.”
Since Donald Trump represents a “inflection point” for Fox News, it is clear that moving on from him would be the “smart business thing” to do. It was reaffirmed with more direct language.

“Paul Ryan also continued to discuss strategic direction with the Murdochs during this timeframe,” The court filing includes.
“Ryan told Dias about his own conversation with Rupert and Lachlan, reporting he told them that this is a huge inflection point to keep Trump down and move on for the future of the conservative movement. Ryan added: Both Rupert and Lachlan agree fully. ‘The key is to execute our collective will.’ Ryan agreed it was his job as a Board member to weigh in because it was a strategic decision about what to do. Ryan was ‘hopeful that the events of January 6 were so shocking that it would help the conservative movement and Fox News move on from Donald Trump’.”
Tucker Carlson’s coverage of the 2020 election and following investigation of federal participation at events on January 6 are probably what led Fox News to decide to split company with him. The conclusion of their partnership may have been precipitated by the $787.5 million settlement deal between Dominion Voting Systems, which did not involve Carlson’s dismissal. However, it seems that persistent scrutiny and criticism finally caused this rupture.
The long-awaited reckoning at Fox News finally happened on Monday night. Lachlan Murdoch and Suzanne Scott of Fox Corp are credited with ushering in this new period in their network’s history, according to reporting from The Daily Beast.
“In Carlson’s case, it was Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch and Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott who made the call on Friday night to can him and his show, Confider has learned, thanks largely (and surprisingly) in part to vulgar comments he made about Sidney Powell, the right-wing lawyer behind many of the bonkers 2020 election lies pushed on Fox’s airwaves,” the report said.
“Tucker was already pissing off Fox management between his conspiracy-laden coverage of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, including the repeated and baseless targeting of Trump supporter Ray Epps as being an FBI agent who instigated the insurrection; a looming lawsuit from his former producer Abby Grossberg alleging a sexist work environment; and his disparaging remarks about Fox brass in documents made public,” the report added.
The parties were unable to come to an agreement on contract renewal conditions, thus Dan Bongino’s time as a Fox News contributor and well-liked guest presenter on “Unfiltered” came to an end last week.
There are rumors that Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro will leave Fox News as Rupert Murdoch tries to make the network less “vulnerable” following their significant financial deal with Dominion Voting Systems. The Dylan Byers revelation from last week’s Radar Online has sparked this notion, which may leave many viewers scratching their heads.
Dan Bongino and Tucker Carlson, two of Fox News’ most prominent pro-Trump commentators, have left the network. Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham, who continue to work as seasoned contributors for the network, are noticeably absent from the list. Before election coverage in 2024, it will be fascinating to observe if this shift in emphasis persists. Could there be other adjustments or host eliminations among well-known Fox News personalities?
After parting ways with a cherished host who fearlessly spoke his opinion and refused to be influenced by politics, Fox News is left with a significant void in its primetime schedule. After leaving Fox screens, Tucker Carlson’s devoted audience is eagerly anticipating what the unwavering analyst will do next.
