Georgia’s Fani Willis, a prosecutor, plans to file a lawsuit this summer against former President Donald Trump over alleged election meddling. Georgians and Americans everywhere are eagerly awaiting the implications of this indictment for future U.S. history books as the case develops.
Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, asked local law enforcement in a letter “heightened security and preparedness” due to the revelation of her indictment charges “may provoke a significant public reaction.”

“I am providing this letter to bring to your attention the need for heightened security and preparedness in coming months due to this pending announcement,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quoted Willis as saying.
Enhanced security measures were recommended by Willis between July 11 and September 1. Willis urged the police to be “ready to protect the public.”
“Please accept this correspondence as notice to allow you sufficient time to prepare the Sheriff’s Office and coordinate with local, state and federal agencies to ensure that our law enforcement community is ready to protect the public,” The Georgian lawyer informed Patrick Labat, the sheriff of Fulton.
Willis stated that if appropriate security precautions are not followed, “acts of violence” might “endanger” Georgians.
“We have seen in recent years that some may go outside of public expressions of opinion that are protected by the First Amendment to engage in acts of violence that will endanger the safety of those we are sworn to protect. As leaders, it is incumbent upon us to prepare.”
Both the city-county emergency management organization and the head of police in Atlanta got enigmatic letters with identical substance.
When informed of Willis’ warning, the Atlanta Police Department said they would “continue to monitor the potential for unrest throughout our city.”
“We stand ready to respond to demonstrations to ensure the safety of those in our communities and those exercising their First Amendment right, or to address illegal activity, should the need arise,” a representative for Atlanta PD stated.
Willis initiated an investigation into President Trump and his associates’ role in efforts to thwart the will of the people after they questioned the conclusion of the Georgia election last year.
