At last! Schiff Is Finally Being Held Accountable

After a protracted period in which viewers questioned the relevance and objectivity of American television journalism, CNN host Dana Bash attempted to rebuild public confidence in cable news on Sunday’s “State of the Union” by asking California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff a series of probing questions.

She began, “You said that there was direct evidence of the fact that [former President] Donald Trump colluded with Russia back in 2016.” She cited details from the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report as follows: “The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government.”

“Republicans argue that’s proof that you used your position on the [House] Intelligence Committee to intentionally mislead Americans, which is why you should not be on that committee.”

Schiff, a born liar, instantly entered the spin mode. He said to Bash, “If you read the Mueller report, he makes clear … that he states no conclusion on whether Donald Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russians.”

“But what he does reveal in his report, what we found in our investigation is that Donald Trump’s campaign manager was sharing internal campaign polling data and their strategy for battleground states with an agent of Russian intelligence while that same unit of Russian intelligence was helping the Trump campaign,” Schiff said.

Paul Manafort, President Trump’s campaign manager, was found to have provided polling data with ties to Russian intelligence agents. Konstantin Kilimnik, a Ukrainian businessman connected to the Mueller investigation, had sent this material.

However, investigative journalist John Solomon revealed in a June 2019 piece published by The Hill that rather than being “an agent of Russia,” Kilimnik was a State Department intelligence source “going back to at least 2013.” Solomon wrote, “[H]undreds of pages of government documents — which special counsel Robert Mueller possessed since 2018 — describe Kilimnik as a ‘sensitive’ intelligence source for the U.S. State Department who informed on Ukrainian and Russian matters.”

Schiff stated to Bash his desire to “set the record straight.” He said, “This is only one of a shifting series of rationalizations and pretexts that McCarthy is using” against him.

Following that, Bash stated, “Let me give you another. … Ahead of the first Trump impeachment, you said the committee had not spoken to a whistleblower. In fact, that turned out not to be true.” She continued by saying that a Washington Post fact check had shown his assertion to be untrue.

The dishonest congressman responded by saying that his response “could have been more explicit.” He said to Bash: “The Washington Post identified that yes, before the person became a whistleblower, they sought advice from the committee. When I was asked the question, I thought they were referring to whether we had brought the whistleblower in, and I should have been more clear in my answer.”

Schiff continued, “But again, let’s be clear [about] what’s really going on here. McCarthy has said Adam Schiff prosecuted the case against Trump — Ukraine — the impeachment was a hoax. You know, he’s given 15 explanations. The only real explanation is, he needs Marjorie Taylor Greene’s vote, he needs Paul Gosar’s vote, he wants to retaliate for their removal from the committee, and apparently he believes I was very effective in exposing his misconduct, Donald Trump’s misconduct, and that’s what they’re trying to stop.”

Thankfully, he continued, “You know, I think that he benefits from having these smears repeated, and that’s part of what he gains from it, but this is a pretext and nothing more.”

Bash rescued him. “Yeah, which is why this is a chance for you to explain and to give your side of that as opposed to just simply repeating it.”

Yeah … no.

Below is a video of Schiff and Bash’s whole conversation.

Representative Schiff’s constant practice of making false assertions that distort the facts was on display once again on Sunday.

Adam Schiff, a member of Congress, cleverly took the chance to become more well-known by taking the lead in the Democratic opposition to President Trump’s suspected links to Russia. His prominence was cemented during the 2016 Democratic National Convention, when he became a symbol of this three-year endeavor after entering Congress in 2001.

Adam Schiff saw a chance to establish himself in the political world when information about Russia’s role in the 2016 US Presidential Election became public. He immediately established a reputation among journalists as their “go-to man” by positioning himself as an authority on all matters pertaining to Trump/Russia conspiracy. Fueled by his recent success and attention, Mr. Schiff never missed an opportunity to assure his audience that President Trump’s involvement was concealed from view, launching him into his now well-known position in American politics.

Congressman Schiff looked for an alternative method of bringing President Trump to justice after the Mueller report failed to find any evidence of misconduct. His contentious decision to launch impeachment proceedings in response to a phone conversation he had with Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, in July 2019 created a contentious discussion and highlighted issues with his tactics that may never be entirely resolved.

The eventual impact of this man’s wrongdoing was undeniable—not only has he lost his authority, but all vestiges of his credibility have also disappeared.

His influence once dominated the political scene, but it has since waned, forcing him to suffer an untimely return to obscurity.

He seems to be accepting the fact that he is about to fail.
