60 Minutes’ Deportation Story JUST COLLAPSED!

CBS News is facing questions about its handling of a controversial immigration story after reports emerged that its flagship newsmagazine, 60 Minutes, knew about a deported migrant’s earlier asylum claims but did not include them in its broadcast.

The report centered on Moussa Diawara, a married father of two who was deported from the United States to Ghana in July. While the program highlighted his concerns about religious persecution following his conversion to Christianity, an earlier asylum application reportedly contained a different explanation for why he feared returning to his native Mali.

According to the New York Post, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson said CBS had been informed of Diawara’s immigration history approximately two weeks before the segment aired Sunday. The disclosure has raised questions about the editorial decisions behind the broadcast and whether viewers received a sufficiently complete account of the case.
