A federal judge appointed during the Obama administration is facing intense scrutiny after a judicial misconduct investigation revealed allegations that have left many in the legal community stunned.
According to findings made public through a judicial conduct review, U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross of Georgia was privately disciplined following an investigation into a personal relationship that reportedly crossed professional boundaries and raised serious concerns about ethics, workplace conduct, and judicial integrity.
The controversy stems from a multi-year relationship between Ross and a senior police official. Investigators concluded that the relationship created significant concerns about potential conflicts of interest while also exposing court employees to behavior they described as deeply inappropriate within a federal workplace.

Investigators found that Ross engaged in sexual activity inside her judicial chambers during normal working hours. Even more alarming, the conduct reportedly took place close enough to court staff that employees could hear what was happening.
