President Donald Trump finally made his move in one of the most important Republican Senate battles in America, and the decision is sending shockwaves through Texas politics.
After months of refusing to choose sides, Trump officially endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the brutal GOP runoff against longtime Senator John Cornyn, giving the conservative firebrand a massive boost just days before Republican voters head back to the polls.
The endorsement instantly transformed the race from a tense intraparty showdown into a full-blown MAGA referendum.
For months, establishment Republicans hoped Trump would stay neutral. Instead, he stepped directly into the fight and made it crystal clear where his loyalties stand.
“Ken Paxton has been a tremendous Attorney General for the Great State of Texas,” Trump said in a statement. “He has fought tirelessly for Election Integrity, Border Security, our always under siege Second Amendment, and so much else.”
Trump added that Paxton “will never let you down.”
