Omar’s 2013 Arrest Photo Just Leaked Back Out!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

According to earlier coverage from AlphaNews, “[Then] State Rep. Ilhan Omar was arrested in 2013 for trespassing and booked at Hennepin County Jail ‘to prevent further criminal conduct,’ according to a newly uncovered police report.”

The confrontation reportedly occurred on January 18, 2013, after an event at the Minneapolis Convention Center featuring former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Following the gathering, large crowds reportedly trailed the presidential convoy to the Hotel Ivy, where security concerns quickly escalated.

AlphaNews also reported that demonstrators opposing Mohamud’s appearance were removed from the hotel in a large group. However, the report claims Omar and several others later re-entered the building after being escorted out.

Police records cited in the reporting state that officers located Omar seated elsewhere in the lobby roughly ten minutes later. The responding officer wrote that Omar “remained defiant” after being warned she would be arrested for trespassing if she did not leave the premises.

Authorities then transported her to the Hennepin County Jail. According to the report, officers acted in order to stop further disruption involving the visiting president.

While the charges were eventually dropped, the arrest remains a notable chapter in Omar’s early political history—well before she entered Congress and became a national figure representing Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.

Now, the old arrest is drawing fresh attention as Omar faces multiple controversies closer to the present day.

One of the biggest issues surrounding Minnesota politics in recent years has been a massive fraud scandal involving individuals tied to pandemic relief programs. Federal prosecutors have charged dozens of people in what has been described as one of the largest COVID-era fraud operations in the nation.

Omar herself has not been charged with any wrongdoing. However, several individuals reportedly connected to her orbit—including a former campaign staffer and others linked to events associated with her political network—have faced scrutiny. Reports also noted that Omar previously returned campaign donations connected to individuals later convicted of fraud.

Meanwhile, another controversy emerged over Omar’s financial disclosures.

Recent filings reportedly suggested that Omar and her husband held assets worth anywhere from $6 million to as much as $30 million. Those eye-popping figures quickly sparked questions online and among political observers.

Later, revised filings dramatically lowered the totals. Omar reportedly said the earlier numbers were caused by an “accounting error.” Updated documents indicated assets far lower than originally listed—closer to tens of thousands of dollars rather than millions.

The combination of an old mugshot resurfacing, fraud-related headlines surrounding her district, and confusion over personal finances has once again placed Omar under an uncomfortable spotlight.

For supporters, the renewed criticism is likely to be dismissed as political attacks. For critics, however, the resurfaced arrest photo serves as a reminder that controversy has followed Omar long before she arrived in Washington.

As the Minnesota congresswoman continues to make headlines, one thing remains clear: the questions surrounding her past and present are not going away anytime soon.
