Eight months after a frustrating injury halted her momentum, Clark didn’t just come back. She reminded everyone exactly why she became one of the most talked-about players in the sport.

The last time fans saw her on the court, she was walking off injured in Boston with a lingering groin issue and serious uncertainty surrounding her future. Fast forward to this week, and the narrative has completely flipped. Clark left Puerto Rico not only healthy, but dominant, earning tournament MVP honors and helping secure Team USA’s path to Berlin.

A Comeback Without Limits

There was no easing into action. No minute restriction drama. No visible hesitation.

Clark stepped onto the court in her senior national team debut against Senegal and immediately controlled the game. In just 19 minutes, she delivered 17 points and 12 assists, putting up one of the highest assist totals ever recorded in a FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament game.

Over the course of the tournament, she led all players in assists, shot an efficient 52.9% from the field, and averaged 11.6 points alongside 6.4 assists across five games played in just seven days.
