Homan Just Backed Down on Sanctuary Clash!

A dramatic shift is underway in Minnesota after weeks of unrest, political standoffs, and deadly consequences tied to sanctuary city policies. On Wednesday, Border Czar Tom Homan announced that 700 federal ICE agents will immediately leave Minnesota, marking a major turning point in the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement strategy in the state.

The decision follows what Homan described as a long overdue change in behavior by state and local officials who had previously resisted cooperation with federal immigration authorities. According to Homan, Minnesota counties are now agreeing to notify ICE before releasing criminal illegal aliens from local jails, a move he called “unprecedented cooperation.”

That cooperation is already having a direct impact on federal enforcement needs. With jails alerting ICE in advance, agents can take custody of dangerous offenders safely and efficiently, without large scale street operations that had fueled chaos across Minneapolis and surrounding areas.

For months, Minnesota’s county jails refused to honor ICE detainer requests, forcing federal agents to track criminal suspects after release into the community. That resistance ended this week.
