She regularly lectures Americans about income inequality and warns that wealthy outsiders are destroying communities through gentrification.
But newly disclosed campaign finance records tell a very different story.
And they show that AOC spent nearly $50,000 enjoying a luxury lifestyle in Puerto Rico while publicly attacking the very behavior she was engaging in.
Campaign cash fuels a luxury island getaway
According to third quarter campaign finance filings, Ocasio Cortez’s August trip to Puerto Rico was anything but modest. Instead of a grassroots visit focused on struggling locals, her campaign spent tens of thousands of donor dollars on upscale hotels, pricey restaurants, and entertainment venues.
