Smith Pushes Vaccine and Mask Guidance That Defies Washington
Dr. Smith didn’t stop there. She issued “stronger guidance” recommending both flu and COVID-19 vaccines for everyone six months and older, along with a call for all residents — vaccinated or not — to wear masks indoors whenever “COVID risk is high.”
Those directives directly contradict the Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services, which is now led by RFK Jr.
Under Kennedy’s direction, the CDC recently removed the blanket recommendation that all Americans 65 and older automatically receive COVID boosters. Instead, the agency now advises that people aged six months to 64 years should consult their doctors before deciding whether to get vaccinated — marking a shift toward genuine, individualized care.
Kennedy’s HHS says the goal is to create policies grounded in “science, safety, and common sense” — a sharp contrast to the fear-driven, one-size-fits-all mandates of the past.
The Real Agenda Behind California’s COVID Revival
If this were really about public health, Sonoma County would follow updated federal science. But California officials seem intent on reviving COVID-era authoritarianism.
Democrats once told Americans to “follow the science.” What they meant, as this latest move shows, was “follow the politics.”
Even as Kennedy’s HHS dismantles the “COVID industrial complex” that enriched bureaucrats and Big Pharma insiders, California Democrats are clinging to the same discredited playbook that wrecked local economies and restricted basic freedoms.
Smith’s order doesn’t even make medical sense. It specifically requires surgical masks, KN95s, KF94s, or N95 respirators — but bans cloth masks, scarves, and bandanas that the very same officials once endorsed when they wanted to appear “proactive.”
Worse, the order declares that it will be reissued “annually unless otherwise rescinded,” suggesting that this “temporary” measure could become a permanent seasonal ritual. It even allows Smith to “expand the type of facilities subject to it on an as-needed basis” — giving her unchecked power to impose restrictions wherever she chooses.
Two Americas: Freedom vs. Fear
The contrast couldn’t be clearer.
On one side, RFK Jr. and the Trump administration are restoring scientific integrity to public health — rejecting blanket mandates and empowering doctors and patients to make their own decisions.
On the other, California Democrats continue to weaponize fear to justify political control.
These are the same officials who:
- Shut down schools while sending their own kids to private classrooms.
- Forced restaurant customers to mask up while attending maskless fundraisers.
- Preached “science” while ignoring studies on natural immunity and age-based risk.
Smith’s mask mandate isn’t about safety — it’s about preserving the power structure Democrats built during the pandemic.
And unless Americans push back, they’ll keep rebuilding that control system — one county at a time.
The Biden era may be over, but California’s pandemic theater proves that for the Left, the addiction to control never ends.
