The secretary said the suspect had previously threatened the agents and was shouting expletives before the confrontation turned violent. “This individual had threatened them previously and had told them that they all needed to go down and shouted expletives at them,” she said.
According to intelligence reports cited by Noem, these attacks are not random. They are part of a coordinated effort by dangerous groups to retaliate against U.S. law enforcement.
“We have specific officers and agents that have bounties that have been put out on their heads. It’s been $2,000 to kidnap them, $10,000 to kill them,” Noem revealed. “They’ve released their pictures. They’ve sent them between their networks, and it’s an extremely dangerous situation and unprecedented.”

When asked who was responsible for these threats, Noem didn’t mince words. She said the perpetrators are “gangs, cartel members and known terrorist organizations,” including foreign groups identified by the U.S. government as terrorist entities.
“They are making sure that they know which officers are out there and being extremely effective, and they want to take them down, because they want to try to stop the operations that are going, that are keeping them from making money off their criminal networks,” Noem added.
The DHS secretary made it clear that the Biden administration’s policies—or lack thereof—have emboldened criminal actors who no longer fear consequences. She warned that the threats have become systematic, and the federal government has been forced to implement security protocols to protect its own officers.
“Our intelligence indicates that these people are organized. They’re getting more and more people on their team, as far as attacking officers, and they’re making plans to ambush them and to kill them,” Noem said. “We have specific officers and agents that have bounties that have been put out on their heads. It’s been $2,000 to kidnap them, $10,000 to kill them. They’ve released their pictures. They’ve sent them between their networks, and it’s an extremely dangerous situation and unprecedented. So, we’ve put protective detail around those individuals, changed some of our operations to keep our officers safe.”
Noem issued a sobering warning to the American public: this isn’t about protests or politics—it’s about open calls for murder against U.S. agents. “Make no mistake, this isn’t just about protesting free speech or that they don’t like that people out here are upholding the law of our country. They’re actually going out there and saying kill these people and we’ll give you this much money to do it,” she said.
While Noem was raising alarm bells about organized criminal violence, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker appeared on CNN and used the moment to take another political swipe at former President Donald Trump.
“They [agents] were going after a few gang members, and instead, they broke windows, they broke down doors, they ransacked the place. And there were people that were held, I mean, elderly people and children zip-tied. Elderly people held for three hours at a time. They are the ones that are making it a war zone. They need to get out of Chicago if they’re not going to focus on the worst of the worst, which is what the president said they were going to do. They need to get the heck out,” Pritzker complained.
Instead of addressing the violent cartels and terror-linked criminals targeting American agents, Democrats seem more interested in scoring political points. As Noem and federal intelligence agencies scramble to protect U.S. personnel from deadly international threats, left-wing officials like Pritzker appear more concerned with optics than with law and order.
The Biden administration’s refusal to take border security and federal protection seriously has now reached a boiling point. With cartels, gangs, and terrorists placing bounties on American law enforcement, even Democrats’ political spin won’t be able to hide the truth: America’s enemies are on the move—and they’re no longer hiding it.
