Deadly Nightmare Sparks Florida AG Action!

Singh now faces three counts of vehicular homicide and is being held in Florida as his case moves through the courts. ICE placed a detainer on him last month to prevent him from fleeing while awaiting trial.

On Thursday, Attorney General Uthmeier announced that his office will issue both civil and criminal subpoenas to White Hawk Carriers, the trucking company that employed Singh.

“This guy did not know how to speak English. He could not read road signs. He never should have received that CDL license in the first place,” Uthmeier said during a press conference.¹

“Not only was he illegally here in the country, but he also did not have the competency, the skillset. There’s no way he went through the proper training in order to get this license.”²

Uthmeier emphasized that his office will hold accountable every entity that enabled Singh to operate a commercial truck.

“We’re gonna use every tool, every legal tool at our disposal to fight back and protect our citizens. So today we’ll be issuing these subpoenas against the employer of this individual,” Uthmeier stated.³

In addition, Florida’s Attorney General has requested records from both California and Washington regarding Singh’s licensing.

“We want to get as much information as possible in how this individual obtained these licenses,” he explained.⁴

The roots of this tragedy trace back to California’s 2013 law allowing driver’s licenses for residents regardless of immigration status. The policy enabled Singh, an illegal alien, to obtain a commercial driver’s license despite lacking basic English proficiency.

By allowing Singh to legally operate a massive truck, California officials effectively handed him a weapon capable of killing entire families. The human cost of these policies is now painfully clear.

Three American families are mourning because politicians in California prioritized “welcoming” illegal aliens over protecting law-abiding citizens. Singh was ultimately arrested in Stockton, California, and extradited to Florida to face justice.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash, but the broader picture is unmistakable. This disaster was entirely preventable:

  • Strong border security could have kept Singh out in 2018.
  • California’s reckless licensing laws enabled him to drive commercially.
  • White Hawk Carriers failed to conduct proper background checks.

Every institution designed to protect Americans failed—and three innocent lives were lost as a result.

Attorney General Uthmeier, however, is demanding accountability and taking action against all parties who contributed to this tragedy. As he stated, that is exactly what leadership should look like.
