“The question is that rioters are not protesters, this is separate from a First Amendment issue,” she said. “There are explosives going off and rocks and other incendiaries are being thrown at officers, people blocking roadways. That is not protest activity.”
She nailed it. The Left continues to blur the line between constitutionally protected protest and outright lawlessness. But Americans aren’t buying it anymore—and neither is Ham.
The debate quickly turned to who exactly is being targeted by Trump’s immigration efforts—and Ham did not mince words.
“The question for the American people and the American government is: does the federal government have the authority and a duty to come and arrest, for instance, these convicted criminals who are also illegal aliens?”
That’s the million-dollar question. And the answer is a resounding “yes.”
Ham then exposed what mainstream media refuses to say out loud: these aren’t sympathetic immigrants fleeing hardship. They’re convicted criminals who pose a real threat.
“Among just a handful, a Filipino national, Mexican nationals, all convicted of sexual assault or assault with a deadly weapon,” Ham revealed.
Sex offenders. Violent attackers. That’s who the ACLU is crying over. These are not family men picking strawberries—they’re predators walking the streets of American cities.
Ham noted something even the mainstream press can’t ignore: liberal strongholds like Los Angeles aren’t exactly thrilled about violent illegal aliens living next door.
“Many Americans, even L.A. residents, want these folks out of the country,” she said.
And who could blame them? When politicians refuse to act, and police are ordered to stand down, families are left to fend for themselves.
So why is the federal government stepping in? Because Democrat officials are failing at the most basic job of governance: protecting their citizens.
“If the LAPD and Newsom and Bass are not doing that, where does the force protection come from?” Ham asked.
It’s a devastating question—and one that exposes the entire sanctuary city farce. California’s leadership would rather virtue signal than remove violent offenders from their streets.
Ham then drove the point home with brutal clarity.
“This is not something the American people object to; and when it comes to the criminal background of these folks, they are very supportive of getting them out of the country,” she explained. “And if this is illegal and they have the authority to do it, then they should do it.”
Polls consistently show strong bipartisan support for deporting criminal illegal aliens. Americans want law and order, not open-air prisons masquerading as cities.
Ham’s commentary made one thing crystal clear: the Left is more interested in shielding violent criminals than keeping citizens safe. They hide behind civil rights rhetoric to push radical policies that turn communities into war zones.
They call it “justice reform” when they let rapists roam free. They call it “immigration rights” when they block the deportation of sexual predators.
But Americans aren’t falling for the bait anymore. They see the chaos, they feel the fear, and they know who’s to blame.
Trump was elected with a mandate to fix this. Mary Katharine Ham just said what millions are thinking: it’s time to put Americans first—and send criminal illegal aliens packing.
