Trump’s China Deal STUNS Everyone!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

But this deal doesn’t come without serious strings attached.

While America gains critical minerals, China walks away with an eyebrow-raising concession. Trump announced that Chinese nationals will continue to study in American universities—a decision that has raised alarm given previous incidents involving espionage and biosecurity threats tied to Chinese students.

“Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities (which has always been good with me!),” Trump said. “We are getting a total of 55% tariffs. China is getting 10%. Relationship is excellent!”

Despite national security concerns, Trump framed the student exchange as part of a broader plan to enhance U.S.-China relations and stimulate trade. He also touted a massive tariff advantage for the U.S.—a 55% rate on Chinese goods, compared to just 10% on American exports to China.

Still, many conservatives aren’t sold.

Social media exploded with skepticism. Critics pointed out that some of these students have previously been caught attempting to smuggle biological materials or steal sensitive technology. Others questioned whether America is once again being lulled into a false sense of trust by a regime that consistently undermines global norms.

The deal comes on the heels of negotiations led by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. On Tuesday night, Lutnick announced that both nations had “reached a framework to implement the Geneva consensus.” That consensus, originally formed in May, aimed to de-escalate trade tensions by cutting tariffs by a whopping 115% for 90 days.

According to The New York Post, under the new framework, U.S. tariffs on most Chinese imports fell from 145% to 30%. In return, China reduced its tariffs on American goods from 125% to 10%.

But China hasn’t exactly played fair.

Since the Geneva consensus was first enacted, China has repeatedly violated its terms. In response, the Trump administration took swift action—revoking visas for multiple Chinese students suspected of espionage. These measures were applauded by many in the America First movement.

Now, with those visa restrictions seemingly relaxed again, many Americans are worried that we could be opening the door to another round of betrayal.

“Is this really the price we have to pay for rare earth minerals?” one critic asked on social media. “Have we forgotten what they’ve done in the past?”

While some believe Trump is playing the long game—securing crucial materials for the nation’s economy and defense—others see the deal as giving China too much in return.

As always, Trump’s approach is bold, high-stakes, and unlike anything seen from the current administration. But one thing is clear: this deal has rekindled the ongoing debate about how far America should go to engage with the Chinese Communist Party.

Whether this agreement turns into a major foreign policy win or a costly gamble remains to be seen. But with the 2024 election looming, Trump’s ability to make deals—and the details behind them—will undoubtedly stay front and center.
