Rep. Andy Ogles suffered a stunning defeat in Tennessee’s Republican primary, falling to former state Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher despite entering the race with President Donald Trump’s endorsement.
The result represents a significant upset in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District and ends Ogles’ bid for another term in Washington.
With most votes counted, Hatcher captured roughly 53.2 percent of the Republican vote, compared with approximately 46.8 percent for Ogles.
