2024 in Danger: Georgia Extends UOCAVA Vote Deadline!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

With the 2024 election on the horizon, UOCAVA votes are once again in the spotlight. As many recall, it took only 44,000 votes across Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin to secure Joe Biden’s presidency in 2020. Given the razor-thin margins, Democrats are heavily focused on winning overseas votes once again.

According to a report from Patty McMurray, Democrats have set an ambitious goal of securing votes from 9 million U.S. citizens abroad through their Democrats Abroad website. However, the numbers don’t add up. A report from the federal government’s Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) reveals that only 4.4 million U.S. citizens reside abroad, and of those, just 2.8 million are eligible to vote. Even if half of those voters were to support Democratic candidates—a generous assumption given the state of the U.S. economy—that still only accounts for 1.4 million votes, far short of the 9 million the Democrats are targeting.

Trump Survivor Coin

Reuters recently highlighted the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) plan to spend $300,000 on registering UOCAVA voters ahead of the 2024 election. This goal seems far-fetched, given that only 2.8 million eligible UOCAVA voters exist. Despite these limitations, the DNC claims that “over 1.6 million Americans from battleground states” such as Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania live overseas, and they plan to “fight for every vote.” Their memo outlines their estimates of UOCAVA voters in each key state, but the numbers seem exaggerated.

One particularly controversial aspect of UOCAVA is the registration process itself. Unlike U.S. citizens living stateside, who must provide the last four digits of their social security number or a state-issued ID to register to vote, UOCAVA voters are not required to provide such verification. This loophole raises serious concerns about the integrity of overseas voting. As highlighted by The Gateway Pundit, UOCAVA voters can register online without proof of identity or citizenship, creating the potential for voter fraud.

On the federal government’s FVAP website and the Democrat-backed VoteFromAbroad.org, overseas voters are allowed to bypass the ID verification process altogether. Additionally, UOCAVA applicants can choose any state or address they wish to vote in without verification of whether they ever lived at that address or have any legitimate connection to that state.

With the stakes so high in 2024, Republicans are starting to take notice. On Sunday, Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, announced that Georgia would be accepting UOCAVA ballots for three days after the election. “75% of all the vote totals will be reported no later than 8 p.m. on election night… What we will be waiting for is the overseas ballots that come in no later than Friday,” Raffensperger stated. This statement has raised alarms, as many fear it could open the door for tampering with the results.

As Republicans continue to watch the situation unfold, the question remains: will they act to address potential vulnerabilities in the UOCAVA voting system? With Democrats doubling down on their efforts to register millions of overseas voters, 2024 is shaping up to be a battle not only for the hearts and minds of Americans at home but also those abroad.
