Two University of Wisconsin students, who interrupted Vice President Kamala Harris during a rally to proclaim their faith, shared their version of events, shedding more light on the controversial moment. The students’ account paints Harris, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, in an unflattering light as she continues to face scrutiny over her stance on religious and moral issues.
During a rally at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Recreational Eagle Center, Harris spoke about abortion, defending her party’s position. She said, “We’re not gonna be gaslighted on this. We remember, Donald Trump hand-selected three members of the United States Supreme Court, with the intention that they would undo the protections of Roe v. Wade, and they did as he intended.”

Harris’ comments come at a time when the issue of abortion has been returned to the states following the Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade. Former President Donald Trump has consistently argued that this decision belongs to the states, and he highlighted this view during a recent presidential debate. Notably, Harris has refrained from specifying what restrictions on abortion she would support, if any, leading to more questions from voters about her stance on the issue.
