President Donald Trump returned to the United States Friday morning after a closely watched trip to Communist China that immediately sparked headlines across Washington and the media world. Instead of quietly slipping back into the country, Trump wasted no time flooding Truth Social with a series of major announcements, bold declarations, and trademark grand visions that once again put him at the center of global attention.
The trip itself carried major geopolitical significance, but Trump’s social media posts afterward quickly became the bigger story. From unveiling plans for a massive patriotic monument project in Washington, D.C., to praising Chinese President Xi Jinping face-to-face, Trump managed to dominate the news cycle within hours of landing back on American soil.
One of the biggest revelations involved Trump’s long-promised “National Garden of American Heroes,” a massive patriotic installation he says will transform a neglected area near the Potomac River into a stunning national landmark celebrating the country’s greatest figures.
“I am proud to announce the site of the NATIONAL GARDEN OF AMERICAN HEROES. This magnificent exhibition of statues will be located in West Potomac Park, which we are transforming into one of the World’s most beautiful public spaces,” Trump wrote.
The president painted a dramatic picture of what he described as a wasted stretch of valuable land in the nation’s capital.
