Oxford Thesis Mystery: No Answers From Moore
Norah O’Donnell pressed Moore on a glaring gap in his résumé: his missing Oxford thesis. Moore had claimed his work made him “one of the foremost experts” on radical Islam in the Western Hemisphere. But when asked if he actually submitted it, Moore offered no answer—only stating that Oxford confirmed he completed his degree.
Investigative reporting by the Washington Free Beacon in December 2025 revealed the truth: Moore never submitted his thesis to the Bodleian Library, the official archive where all graduate theses are deposited. Without that submission, no degree ceremony could take place.
Complicating matters, Moore’s 2006 White House fellowship application listed his Oxford graduation as 2003, yet Oxford records show he finished in November 2005. Even the thesis title he submitted for the fellowship does not match the title on his official degree. Moore dismissed the reporting as the work of “a right-wing blog,” but provided no clarification on dates, titles, or the missing document itself.
