Despite the chaos, ICE agents successfully detained the suspect. Even after she was restrained, agitators continued to scream at officers, hurling insults and accusations while refusing to comply with commands to disperse. The scene underscored the growing hostility federal law enforcement now faces simply for carrying out their duties.

The unrest follows a violent weekend in Minneapolis that left federal officials on high alert. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that additional federal agents would be deployed to the city after protesters flooded the streets following an ICE-involved shooting. The surge aims to restore order and protect both law enforcement personnel and federal property.
This incident was not an isolated event. Just one day earlier, conservative journalists Nick Sortor and Cam Higby were targeted during another anti-ICE demonstration in the city. What began as reporting quickly devolved into a frightening encounter with a hostile mob.
Sortor was ambushed outside an ICE facility by far-left rioters who quickly turned violent. According to his account, protesters surrounded his vehicle, throwing trash inside and spitting at him as tensions spiraled out of control.
“I was forced to drive away to save our lives, repeatedly warning those standing in front to get out of the way,” Nick Sortor said.
The situation escalated further as the mob refused to move, effectively trapping Sortor and his colleague. With no help in sight, he made the split-second decision to flee the area.
“They didn’t listen, so I had no choice but to go anyway,” Nick Sortor said. “They then used vehicles to block us as we were running, forcing me to throw the truck off the road to go around them.”
Even after escaping the immediate danger, Sortor says the intimidation didn’t stop.
“Then, it appears we were chased down the interstate by another one of their goons,” he added.
These events paint a disturbing picture of lawlessness fueled by radical activism, where journalists are attacked, federal agents are assaulted, and mobs feel emboldened to operate without fear of consequences. Minneapolis, like many blue-run cities, continues to struggle with maintaining basic order as elected leaders remain silent—or worse, sympathetic—toward those instigating the chaos.
As federal authorities move to reinforce their presence, the message is clear: attacks on law enforcement and members of the press will not be tolerated. But the broader question remains—how much longer will cities allow extremist mobs to dictate the streets before restoring the rule of law?
