Bill Clinton in HOT Seat After Defiance

Former President Bill Clinton sparked fresh controversy Tuesday by failing to appear before the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating the late Jeffrey Epstein and his network of associates. Clinton had been ordered to sit for a sworn, closed-door deposition, but no sign of him was observed entering or leaving the committee room ahead of the scheduled 10 a.m. session.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., had previously warned that noncompliance could trigger contempt of Congress proceedings. Clinton’s absence sets the stage for potential legal and political consequences as the panel intensifies its probe.

Several Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, were seen entering the committee room Tuesday, underscoring the seriousness of the proceedings and the high-profile nature of the subpoenas.

Chairman Comer did not stop with Bill Clinton. He is reportedly threatening similar contempt actions against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton if she refuses to testify before the committee on Wednesday. “No one is above the law,” Comer has repeatedly emphasized, signaling that the investigation is determined to hold all relevant figures accountable.
