An eyewitness helped authorities identify Routh and his black Nissan, leading to his arrest. Following his apprehension, further investigations revealed that Routh had traveled to Ukraine in 2022, where he allegedly worked to recruit fighters from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and other countries for the Ukrainian military. His social media profiles were littered with anti-Trump rhetoric, and records show that he had donated to the Biden-Harris campaign in 2020.
