Tim Walz is back on the golf course, and the reaction from critics was swift.
The Minnesota governor recently shared a video of himself playing golf at Northwest Angle Country Club, presenting the outing as a lighthearted moment. Instead, the clip reopened an old political grievance: Walz’s decision during the COVID-19 pandemic to temporarily close Minnesota golf courses while residents were being told to stay home.
The timing is especially uncomfortable for Walz because his administration remains under intense scrutiny over Minnesota’s sprawling fraud crisis, while Vice President JD Vance has referred allegations involving Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison to the Justice Department for investigation.
