A growing storm is forming around Minnesota’s Democratic governor as the Trump administration ramps up pressure over what federal officials describe as one of the most egregious fraud failures in recent state history.
In a blistering letter that is already sending shockwaves through political circles, Education Secretary Linda McMahon directly called on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to resign, accusing him of presiding over years of unchecked fraud, systemic abuse of taxpayer-funded programs, and a complete collapse of oversight under his watch.
The letter, obtained by Fox News Digital, leaves little room for interpretation.
“You have been Minnesota’s Governor since 2019,” McMahon wrote. “During that time, your careless lack of oversight and abuse of the welfare system has attracted fraudsters from around the world, especially from Somalia, to establish a beachhead of criminality in our country. As President Trump put it, you have turned Minnesota into a ‘fraudulent hub of money laundering activity.’”
